Mississauga BJJ | Takes a team to make a champion

Montreal BJJ update

congrats to elite training centre member Kevin Hoang on making the all to familiar trip out to montreal and competing in the 2015 IBJJF Montreal open and taking home the gold medal in his division.

The long drive out to compete is something i have done many times in the past and  far from easy when alone but kevin was lucky in that the rest of the Ribeiro jiu-jitsu competition team was on hand also putting in work and dominating the way to a 1st place over all team finish for a 2nd year in a row.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a funny thing in that competition is done 1 on 1 vs an opponent but you need a solid team around you to have any hope of getting good training or seeing results from your time of the mat.

While not everyone at our Mississauga BJJ academy has competition as the focus of their training the “almost” EGO FREE team based atmosphere you find at the academy is something very special and a big part of the success of our competitors in every art that we offer.

You have probablt heard the saying it takes a village to raise a child..well my version goes…

It takes a team to make a champion.

Congrats and lets keep up the good work.
